Sorry, this video does not show the wash action.

This is most likely the first time ever that this 1949 G.E. Electric Sink Dishwasher has ever been fully operated. When I brought it back to West Peoria, Illinois from Massachusetts on May 1, 2009, it still had some partial decals still attached to the Sink and Dishwasher Lid.

This machine originated somewhere in Pennsylvania. Speculation is all I have to go on. When I picked this machine up, it was missing the original drain stopper and the original water valve. I believe that this Electric Sink sat in an Appliance Store's inventory for some time. And when a spare drain stopper and water valve was needed for another machine in the field, they were cannibalized from this machine. Time passed, perhaps into the early to late 1950's before someone ventured into the appliance store in PA, and bought this Electric Sink to be used in a summer cabin, or similar. The new owners stored the machine in a heated building, and there it sat - never to be installed in its intended location. It was never used, never run through a complete cycle. The shipping support was still attached underneath the motor. Jump ahead to 2007. The machine is placed up for sale, and a collector from Massachusetts bought it. For two more years, it sat in a heated basement. I was researching the automaticwasher.org website in March, when I found a discussion and photos of this brand new, never installed Electric Sink. I wrote to the current owner and he agreed to sell the machine to me, but was unaware of the two missing parts.

To make this machine runable, a new G.E. dishwasher water valve has been installed, and a drain stopper has been borrowed from my 1948 G.E. Electric Sink/Dishwasher.
