A mother (Jane Ann Shellman)reached out to me when she heard I was selling a Glowforge. Her daughter Chyanne Shellman runs a small laser cutting and engraving business called The Crafty Cows. She is 22 years old. Her Glowforge is dying and can no longer cut and can only engrave. This amazing young woman took a Glowforge and built a great little following and has been doing vendor shows all around. She has been using the laser and this business to pay her own way through College! She attends Purdue University! She took very little debt out and has been paying her own way through school. An amazing story in itself! But she began to feel ill. And so began doctors and tests. Ultimately, Chyanne has diagnosed with cancer, and has a journey ahead of her. Medical bills are stacking up as well and she asked her mom, "How am I going to pay these bills". Without a working laser she simply wouldn't be able to. And she was concerned about letting her customers down. So Mom reached out to me. With very little money of her own, she was willing to give me pretty much everything she had to buy my used Glowforge to get her daughter back up and running. Well, I had the Glowforge sold by the time Jane reached out. But her story touched me deeply. She felt safe to share with me. She wanted nothing from me other than to purchase my Glowforge for her baby. They have been through enough, and seeing a young woman like this, who has already built a business and was using it to pay for her education, and now struggling for her health, I knew I had to help. And while I can't help everyone, I have always believed in giving more than you take. So I reached out to Danny, the president of Aeon Lasers, and asked if he had any machines, new or used, that I could purchase for the daughter. I was willing to buy her one. After hearing the story Danny took no time to say "We will take care of it". Aeon agreed to gift this remarkable young woman a brand new Mira 7. And one they keep in stock just for moments like this.❤️❤️❤️. So she will get it right away. I immediately started to cry and knew in my heart this was going to the right place. Without saying a word to Mom, I set up a zoom call with the 2 of them. I told Mom I just wanted to discuss possible options for lasers she may be able to purchase. She had no idea what was about to happen. I then got on the call, and met them both and heard their story. We gifted this beautiful young woman a New Mira 7. I cannot thank Aeon Laser USA Enough for joining me in helping her out. This is why I am proud to partner with a company like this.
