The prophecy in Daniel 2 revolves around King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon having a dream about a large statue made of different materials. In the dream, a stone destroyed the statue, and the stone grew into a mountain that filled the whole earth. Daniel, through divine inspiration, interprets the dream, explaining that the different parts of the statue represent successive world empires: the head of gold symbolizes Babylon, the chest and arms of silver represent the Medo-Persian Empire, the belly and thighs of bronze symbolize Greece, the legs of iron stand for Rome, and the feet mixed with iron and clay depict a divided state of the final world empire. The stone represents the kingdom of Elohim, which will ultimately conquer and replace all earthly kingdoms, establishing an everlasting dominion. This prophecy serves to illustrate God's sovereignty over human history and the ultimate triumph of His kingdom.
