やわらかくしなやか、そして強さを持つ和紙。
その主原料の中でも秀でて長く強靭な繊維を持つ楮、そして麻を原材料とし、手漉きで丁寧に漉き上げました。さらにアワガミファクトリーオリジナルの表面加工を施し、丁寧に揉み仕上げを行ったこの和紙を、私たちは「紙麻（かみお）」と名付けました。

「紙麻（かみお、かみそ）」は和紙の主原料のひとつである楮（こうぞ）の別称でもあります。 “麻”の字も含むその名の通り、楮と麻という伝統的な素材と、古くから伝わる手漉き和紙の技術を活かしながらも、新しい和紙が生まれました。
柔軟な質感は縫製等の加工適正も向上させ、私たちの身近に寄り添うモノ作りの素材としての可能性を大きく広げます。
