The S.O.S. Band (sometimes written as S.O.S. Band; abbreviation for Sounds of Success) is an American R&B and electro-funk group who gained fame in the 1980s. They are best known for the songs "Take Your Time (Do It Right)", "Just Be Good to Me", and "The Finest".

The S.O.S. Band, originally formed as Sounds of Santa Monica in 1977, gained popularity in the 1980s with a series of successful albums and singles. After signing with Tabu Records and working with producer Sigidi Abdullah, they changed their name to The S.O.S. Band, standing for "Sounds of Success." Their debut album, S.O.S., went gold, and they continued to produce successful albums throughout the 1980s. Their music helped popularize the TR-808 Roland drum machine sound. Vocalist Mary Davis left the band in 1986 for a solo career but later rejoined for tours. After their 1991 album failed to chart, Davis eventually retired from performing in 2021 due to a stroke.
