First start with a glass of wine. That is just for you.

Get a clear glass planter. I found mine at the grocery store. It had other flowers in it.
I used a clear glass container that was a candle. I used it up and used that for the inside planter. I put my succulents in that after filling it with cactus soil. Good drainage comes down so you don't over water.
Put it in the middle of big glass container and use a strong piece of paper and put it inside. You will pour the sand in all around in different levels. You will need to use the paper so it does not get on the plants.
Put the sand level with the plant.
You can put rocks, shells ( like I did), or pebbles.
Use a meter that will tell you how wet it is. Put it on the side of the plant container to measure.
Water this about once a week.
This is quick and easy.
I found some great colored sand on EBay.
Finish your wine and your good to go.
