This is the start of one of best chase sequences in film history (IMO). It immediately follows one of the most jar-dropping stunts (that of the train car explosion), and moves the lead characters from a high comedic point to one of serious dread. The entire chase sequence lasts for an unheard of 30 minutes of the movie. This is one of best things in a western that is full of them. It is simply a classic.
