जब Sperm का Shape और Size सही नही रहता तो Concieve करने में दिक्कत हो सकती है। Defected Sperm Eggs को ठीक से Fertilize नही होता इसलिए Concieve नही हो पाते। और कमजोर Sperm से Concieve होने पर Miscarriage भी हो सकता है।

हर एक Sperm का Head होता है, Midpiece होता है, और Tail होती है। Head और Midpiece को Connect करने के लिए बीच में Net होती है। अगर Sperm के Head का Size बड़ा या छोटा हो या फिर 2 head हो तो यह Sperm की Abnormility है।

अगर 100 Sperm में से 4 Sperm की Quality अच्छी हुई तो भी Sperm की Morphology अच्छी है कहते है। Sperm की जांच हमेशा Computer द्वारा करना चाहिए क्योंकि उससे 360° से Semen को जांच करता है जिससे Computer Assisted Semen Analysis (CASA) भी कहे है।

* Medication (eg: Chemotheropy)
* Semen Infections

* Smoking
* Alcohol
* Drug
* Vitamin, zinc, folate और Antioxidants की कमी से भी Sperm की Morphology कम होती है।
* Hot bath लेना, लंबे समय तक बैठे रहने वाली jobs, Long Distance Drivings से Testies का temperature बढ़ जाता है और इसे Sperm की Morphology कम हो जाती है।
