This barge traversed Lock and Dam Number 6 near Trempealeau, Wisconsin on the Mississippi River at around 1am on 7/16/18. At 600 feet long, the barges filled up the entire 600-foot lock, requiring the tug boat to disconnect from the barges and go through separately. The barges were lowered (the difference in elevation between the two pools was only a few inches) and then allowed to float under their own power out of the lock (heading downstream). After exiting the lock gates, the barges were tied to the concrete pier while the gates were closed and the tug took the next round.
