Over the years, Trails of Cold Steel is one of those games that quite a few of you have suggested that I play. To be honest, I probably wouldn’t have gotten around to it if it wasn’t for these suggestions, but now I can thank you because I finally played the first one, and it was awesome.

For a bit of context, Trails of Cold steel is part of the massive Legend of Heroes series, which started in 1989 and spans 14 main games. Since 2004, the Trails games have all been set in the same world, but the four Cold Steel games directly relate to each other and focus on the same group of characters. So, while it’s not necessary to play the other Trails games, it will give you a better understanding of the complex world. Playing Cold Steel 1, however, is very necessary if you plan to play all four games.

From what I’ve seen in this story focused first title, I have a feeling things are going to get REALLY good and I I’m looking forward to seeing where the series goes from here. Watch this review to find out why this game is a must play for JRPG fans!
