This is a 'whistle stop' A - Z tour of the main United States Air Force Bases in Britain that were Active when I was living in the UK as an Air Force dependant (1968 - 1972 at RAF Upper Heyford and 1975 - 1978 at RAF Bentwaters/Woodbridge). Some Bases featured may not have been 'Operationally Active' but they were administered by the USAF in some capacity and therefore qualify to be listed.

I have concentrated on those Bases that I had some form of connection with (ie: Through School competition or just visiting the installation) and I appreciate there will be detached units that are not listed. In the main however, I believe that most USAF installations of the day are featured in this presentation.

I list RAF Daws Hill, though in reality a US Navy Facility, but housing London Central High School. The founding members of the Rock Band 'America,' Dewey Bunnell, Dan Peek and Gerry Beckley attended LCHS in the 1960's.

Abbreviations used in this video: BCWM - Bentwaters Cold War Museum. HASs - Hardened Air Shelters. MoD - Ministry of Defence. WBHS - Woodbridge High School.
