In this Vlog I describe how I thought my football knowledge made me a betting "expert". How wrong I was!
Having played the game and refereed as well, it subconsciously made me think I had some sort of edge on football betting.
It all started with an 'innocent’ football accumulator bet at 18 years old in the bookies which led me to being introduced to the roulette machine (another story for another day!).
It got so bad that towards the end of my addiction I gambled on my mobile phone lying next to my girlfriend in bed. It wasn't uncommon to bet on Australian football early in the morning, watching the games via the Ladbrokes App or being mesmerised watching the stats screen with ‘corner’ and ‘home team attacking’ pop-ups.
I viewed both teams to score bets as a ‘sure-fire’ way to make money. I was in so much debt that these types of bets were a way for me to get by. (Or so I thought).
Enough about me...
Did you used to think you were a football betting expert?
Did you feel you had insider knowledge?
Maybe you used to play football like I did, which added to this feeling...?
