My first flip this year. Makes me miss Delaware. i'm being more conservative with putting miles on the ol' car. If this was your first time seeing a horseshoe crab up close, you're probably mildly grossed out. They ain't nature's cutest critter. And they're not the best swimmers. But i always flip one in need. i suppose i could place them back in the water more gently. But they never seem injured using this method, and always swim off.

Btw, horseshoe crabs aren't actually crustaceans - they're more closely related to the arthropods. Kinda like ancient, oversized spiders of the sea!

Also, there was very strong, midday sunlight on this shot. Lotta contrast. Iow, my chicken legs aren't pasty and white. Jussayin'.
