The third-generation of Volkswagen’s midsize SUV, the Tiguan, has been launched in Germany. And Chasing Cars’ Dan Gardner was there to check out the wildly revamped family hauler.

Larger in size and smarter with interior packaging and tech, the new Tiguan promises to deliver a more premium experience inside and out.

Here, Gardner tests the entry-level 110TSI version, albeit with racy R-Line accoutrement, which looks set to be close to the volume-selling spec Australian can expect when this third-gen model arrives locally in Q2 2025.

Is the new Tiguan the more upmarket evolution it appears? And what’s it like to drive? And where does it fall short? Watch on to find out.
