Yabakei Valley, located in Nakatsu City in the northern part of Oita Prefecture, is one of the three most famous places to see the autumn leaves in Japan.

Shinyabakei's "Hitomehakkei" is known as the most beautiful place to view the most beautiful scenery in the Yabakei area, and it is the center of Shinyabakei, showing a vivid scenery all year round, from the fresh greenery to the changing colors of the leaves.
This area was named after the fact that the eight views can be seen from a single location.

The Aono-Domon (The Blue Gate) of Hon-Yabakei is one of the most famous scenic spots in the Yabakei area, and is famous for the Blue Gate Tunnel located at the foot of Kyoshuhou Peak, which rises up facing the Yamakuni River.

Keisekien is a 20,000 square meter Japanese garden built to commemorate the completion of the Yabakei Dam in 1987.

Ifuku no Kei, located in the southwestern part of the Yabakei area, is a scenic spot with a combination of beautiful valleys with oddly-shaped rocks and oddly-shaped peaks and a tranquil mountainous landscape that has been preserved in Japan since ancient times.

Tatehata no Kei is a representative view point in the so-called "Urayabakei" area. With its unique rocky peaks and the surrounding mountain surface, the scenery is breathtaking.

Tsurugahara no Kei is located on the outskirts of Tachihata no Kei. It has a wide pond surrounded by rocky peaks and is known for its beautiful autumnal leaves reflected in the pond.
