The Qingdao International Sailing Centre is a sailing marina located on the former site of the Beihai Shipyard by Qingdao's Fushan Bay at Shandong Province in China.

It was constructed for the 2008 Summer Olympics. It hosted the Olympic and Paralympic Sailing competitions.

The Qingdao Olympic Sailing Centre & International Marina is located at the former Beihai dockyard in FuShan Bay adjoining May Fourth Square and DongHai West Road.

The Sailing Regattas of the 29th Olympic Games in 2008 as well as the 13th Paralympic Games were held at this location, now called the Qingdao International Marina & Olympic Sailing Center.

The Qingdao Olympic Sailing Centre & International Marina project consisted of more onshore than offshore work.

The land based work covers approximately 45 hectares and includes the construction of many functional buildings and supporting infrastructures: Administrative and Game Management Center, Athletes Village, Media Center, Logistics Supply Center, National Sailing Center, Olympic Village, International Passenger Liner Terminal, International Conference Center, Five-Star Hotel, International Yacht Club, Seaside Marina, Shopping and Amusement Center (Marina Center), as well as some parks and public squares.

The offshore work included the main seawall, the secondary seawall, the jetty wharf, Olympic wharf, and the retaining wall reconstruction.

In January-February 2009, the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center hosted sailors from eight teams of the Volvo Ocean Race 2008-09.

The Marina has also been host to several Clipper Round the World Yacht Race events.

From the Qingdao marina light house, located at the end of “Passion Bar Street”, the Tsingtao Beer head quarters, May Fourth Square Monument, and Olympic Torch provide photographers iconic shots with the Sailing City’s Shinan District Central Business District as a backdrop.

Marina City offers shoppers a high end experience along with international cuisine, a cinema, and even an ice rink.

Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center, Fushan Bay, China. It's located at Qingdao, the economic center of Shandong Province, a famous coastal resort and international port city.

During the construction of Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center, the three concepts of “Green Olympics, Scientific and Technological Olympics, and Humanistic Olympics” are closely followed.

In order to obey the principles of “sustainable development, full utilization and retention of the Olympic cultural heritage”, various new technologies are adopted.

And it also pays attention to environmental landscape planning. The whole project includes two parts: land engineering and hydraulic engineering.

The land engineering mainly includes the administrative and competition management center, athlete apartment, athlete center, media center, logistics support and functional center, five building units and environment and other supporting projects.

Water projects include the main breakwater, secondary breakwater, jetty pier, Olympic memorial wall pier, revetment renovation and other hydraulic projects.

It also uses “Seawater” Air Conditioning Technology, which is nearly 30% more energy-saving and emission-reducing than ordinary air-conditioning systems.

After the 29th Olympic Games in 2008 and the 13th Paralympic Games, the competition facilities in the Qingdao International Sailing Center was slightly adjusted to meet the needs of development and tourism. And now it has become one of the must-see famous attractions.
