In this is segment (from a longer lecture on the tremendous influence imperial iconography and patronage had on the development of Byzantine Art) I briefly touch upon two great monuments from the age of Emperor Justinian: the churches of Ravenna in Italy and Hagia Sophia in the capital, Constantinople.
