2020 - I didn't intend to put this online. Several years ago I repainted peeled clear coat sections, which had taken a beating from the southern hemisphere sun. I sanded the entire hood, front right quarter panel (top), front left door (top), and rear left door (top), which had peeling clear coat. Weirdly the roof did not.

My intention was to remove/stop peel and have a uniform shine across the car. No showroom effect required, but after heavily polishing my 3 coats of clear coat (not seen here) it actually came up very shiny and reflective as per the rest of the vehicle.

The paint match by whoever mixed my paint code, was well done. It definately was worth the short amount of time and $ I spent prepping and refinishing it myself. I can barely notice any difference across the car, several years later its held up.

I will say that painting outside, as good as it can get, you still must do some post production work(!) to buff out any dust particles or the odd bug which may have landed. I prepped with that in mind, and shot 3 clears over the color in order to have a nice buffer to cut back and it really worked well. (not seen here)

Making the job easier I bought an assortment of polishing tools pads and liquids from The Chemical Guys in USA. Great products. Seriously recommend their gear.
