A wonderful presentation on the Landing Craft Vehicle Personnel (LCVP) recorded during the 75th Anniversary ceremonies for the D-Day (Normandy) invasion at the National WWII Museum. This video takes us inside the LCVP to give us an inside look a the boat that played a vital role in the invasion of Normandy on D-Day. Seen in the first few moments of the movie Saving Private Ryan, the LCVP, or Higgins Boat, would bring allied troops to the beaches on D-Day at Omaha and Utah beaches. This is the same model of landing craft that would bring Tom Hanks to shore in the movie.
