But wait, upon deciding to turn back, I sheltered in Pilot's Cove, planning a light lunchy, but got talking to a rather nice fellow about the trials and tribulations of owning a Shetland Family Four, which was a power boat I nearly purchased 20yrs ago. Anyway, the upshot is, the wind miraculously dropped off, and allowed me to explore a good way up the Malltraeth estuary, which I personally found to be a most delightful experience, especially so after deciding to abort the day's paddle. I've tried to capture the atmosphere and peacefulness of the estuary, the bird calls in particular adding the finishing touch, I felt. Also on the return, I witnessed Llanddwyn Island become an actual Island for the first time in my many previous visits here.
