My 8-bit cover of Buddy Holly by Weezer!
I was not happy with my first cover, so I made another one to show my progress since then!

(the lick should be in the right key this time lol)

This cover is made using the Nintendo 2a03 + Konami VRC6. In layman's terms, that means Famicom (or the NES.) I chose the VRC6 expansion because I love the customization in the added square wave channels. Combining them with the sawtooth channel really sounds like an electric guitar.

Buddy Holly is one of Weezer's most iconic songs, and ever since I heard the AOL Sessions version, it hasn't escaped from my head. The fun and goofy melody has stuck with me.

FamiStudio is a very simple music editor for the Nintendo Entertainment System (known as the Famicom outside the U.S.) It is targeted at both chiptune artists and NES homebrewers. (from famistudio.org)
