A friend asked me to transcribe this song for them to perform many years ago. Whenever you have to transcribe some music, you will naturally have to spend a lot of time listening and re-listening to parts of it. As a result, I formed a connection with the song. Also it’s also just a well-written piece of music (and Lalah Hathaway’s original performance of it is amazing, of course). I revisited it recently in my piano and vocal practice, and I finally feel like I can connect with all the elements of it, so I thought I would record a take of it. I hope you enjoy it!
