As England are preparing for Euro 2024 I thought it would be interesting to look at one of the football stadiums England played at in preparation for their EURO 88 campaign... 🤔 This abandoned stadium in Aylesbury is known as Buckingham Road Stadium and has been abandoned since 2006 when Aylesbury United were evicted. In recent years it's become famous purely for this fact (it has been left to rot and deteriorate)... But back in the day 6,000 people attended this football ground and watched Aylesbury United vs England in June 1988. Bobby Robson used this as preparation for his England side heading into the European Championships in Germany. Players such as Gary Lineker, Peter Beardsley, John Barnes, Chris Waddle & Stuart Pearce played here. Today we do an ABANDONED STADIUM TOUR of what was a thriving little English Football Ground 🏟️ ...kind of. It was waterlogged quite often and it's partly that reason as to why planning permission hasn't been granted for new housing on the site 😅 Neighbours are acting as security for the ground, so go steady if you're heading there for a visit and it's not uncommon for the police to be called... 👮🏻‍♂️🚨
