In a historic day for Jammu and Kashmir, the first election in many years has seen the National Conference storm to victory with 49 seats in their coalition with the Congress Party. The BJP won 29 seats, more than expected, while the PDP was decimated. Omar Abdullah is set to become Chief Minister once again. The election, the first since the abrogation of Article 370, saw the NC sweep the Kashmir valley.
