In 1868, Charles Dickens bundled his youngest son, Edward Bulwer Lytton Dickens, nicknamed 'Plorn', off to Australia at the ripe old age of 16, hoping it would make a man of him. Edward wasn't the first person Dickens shipped southward: his older brother, Alfred, arrived in Australia in 1865 - and a cast of characters from Dickens' novels found better fortunes Down Under. Now, his youngest son rests in a remote graveyard, in the northern NSW town of Moree. And Norann loves to take her English literature students from the Danthonia Bruderhof on an annual pilgrimage to Plorn's grave, to learn about his life and fate, and to consider the connections and influence his famous father had in Australia. Join us as we discover the man affectionately called 'Plorn' by his nearest and dearest.

About us: We're the parents of three sons and live at Danthonia Bruderhof, a Christian community in northern New South Wales, Australia, and enjoy discussing our faith, family, food (Norann's an awesome cook!), and the day-to-day adventures of life in "the bush".
