While it may be too early to say Merry Christmas it’s a great time to start hanging up decorations. And this year is the first time I’ve decorated my layout since 2010 albeit much more lavishly. For this year I’ve gone for a period look that suits the 1950s/1960s postwar era for which most of my rolling stock is from. That includes the aluminum garland, knee hugger pixies, and Coby/Shiny Brite glass ornaments, they are all original from the 1950s and 1960s. Same goes for the felt figures (even the creepy Santas) and other assorted decor that most likely would’ve been paired with a Lionel train around a Christmas tree. As for the trains themselves, a 2056 Hudson pulls 3 Williams Madison cars and a 681 turbine hauls 4 green 2400 passenger cars. The background music is an edited version of Les Brown’s Nutcracker Suite recorded in 1952. I’ll be sure to post more videos as the holidays come around so stay tuned! As always thank you all for watching!
