MENACE (Ensemble & electronics) - GUIRAUD/Ensemble21
UNEARTH Score follower.

Performed and premiered by Ensemble21,
at La Tricoterie Brussels, for Festival Mosaïques 2024 (first edition),
16 june 2024.

MENACE is about ecology, where the Ars subtilior blends with electronic materials made of field recordings and oscillator articulations.
Spectral writing, therefore, serves as a “binder” to various sonic and textural phenomena.
This piece acts as an organic mass almost imitating the event that causes various varieties of flora to grow and flower. In a certain wild gesture, organic movements and hallucinations emerge to the surface, mirages, blurs, and sharpness burst forth. Like a world, henceforth, that could almost never come back.

Ensemble21 is :
Anne Davids . Bass flute
Benjamin Maneyrol . Bass clarinet
Aymeric De Villoutreys . Violin
Anne-Gabrielle Lia-Aragnouet . Cello
Quentin Meurisse . Piano + e-keyboard
Christophe Guiraud . Electronics

Kaja Farsky & Benjamin Maneyrol . Organisation/production

Composed by Christophe Guiraud.
