ネモフィラが見ごろを迎える4月から5月にかけて、澄んだ青空とつながるかのようなネモフィラの絨毯を各地で見ることができます。ネモフィラは、和名では「瑠璃唐草(るりからくさ)」と呼ばれ、10〜20センチメートルほどの草丈に、2センチメートル前後の青や水色の可憐な花々が一面に広がります。
ネモフィラはギリシャ語の「nemophila(ネモフィラ)」から来た名前で、その由来には諸説があります。一つはこの花が日向に森のように咲き乱れる光景が好もしいということで、nomos(小さな森)をphileou(愛する)という名がつけられたという説。もう一つはギリシャ神話で、ネモフィラという名の美しい女性を愛した男性が、彼女と結婚出来たら死んでもよいとの誓いを立てました。しかし、愛が実って結婚が実現するや、彼は本当に死を迎える運命となりました。嘆き悲しむネモフィラを憐れんだ神様は、彼女を一輪の青い花に変えてあげたと言い伝えられています。

【選曲♪】
モーツァルトのディベルティメント第17番は、1779年、名門貴族のご子息の大学卒業を祝して作曲されたと推測されています。「ディヴェルティメント」は「喜遊曲」と訳されるように、上流階級の食卓や娯楽の場で、或いは結婚や卒業等を祝って主に室内で演奏するために作られた曲で、楽器の編成や曲の形式や楽章数などに決まりはなく、極めて自由な作風が特徴です。
ディヴェルティメント第17番は6楽章の構成で、特に第3楽章のメヌエットは「モーツァルトのメヌエット」とも呼ばれ、最も有名なものです。この曲にはウィーンで音楽家として成功するモーツァルトの芸術家としての自信が反映され、単に貴族に捧げる喜びを超えた、高いレベルでの音楽的達成を聴き取れるのではないでしょうか。

From April to May, when nemophila flowers are in full bloom, you can see a carpet of nemophila flowers in various places.
Nemophila, known as "baby blue eyes," is about 10 to 20 centimeters tall and has a field of dainty blue flowers about 2 centimeters in size.
The name nemophila comes from the Greek word "nemophila," and there are several theories about its origin. One theory is that the name was given to nomos (=small forest) from phileou (=love) because the sight of the flowers in full bloom is so lovely. Another is that in Greek mythology, a man who fell in love with a beautiful woman named Nemophila made a vow that he would die if he could marry her. However, as soon as they were married, he was sadly destined to die. God took pity on the grieving Nemophila and transformed her into a single blue flower.

【About Music♪】
Mozart's Divertimento No. 17 is believed to have been composed in 1779 to celebrate the graduation of the son of a famous aristocrat. As the word "Divertimento" translates to "joyful piece," it is a piece composed mainly for indoor performance at aristocratic dinners and entertainment, or to celebrate weddings, graduations, etc. There are no rules regarding the type of instrument, form of the piece, or number of movements, and it is characterized by an extremely free style of composition.
Divertimento No. 17 is composed of six movements, and the minuet in the third movement is also known as "Mozart's Minuet" and is the most famous. This piece reflects Mozart's confidence as an artist who was a successful musician in Vienna. It can be seen as not only a piece dedicated to the aristocracy, but also an expression of his own high level of music.
