Professional cycling seems like a very simple sport, doesn’t it?

Everybody starts together, and the first to cross the finish line is the winner. You might think that sounds simple on paper, but I can assure you that it’s actually much, much more complex.

Like any sport, there are a whole host of rules that riders have to follow to ensure fair play and safety.

Some rules are pretty obvious, but there are also some which to put it politely, are just plain stupid. With this in mind, I’m going to take you through some of the weirdest rules in professional cycling
