The biggest litlle Hmong New Year Celebration in California. Hmong New Year, known as "Festival of the New Year," is a significant cultural event observed by the Hmong people. It marks the end of the harvest season and the beginning of a new year. Celebrated by the Hmong community worldwide, this festivity typically occurs between late November and early December, varying based on lunar calendars. The occasion is a vibrant showcase of Hmong culture, featuring tradtional clothing, elabrorate dances, captivating music performances, and colorful rituals. Families gather to pay respects to ancestors, enjoy festive foods, participate in cultural games and competitions, and engage in rites symbolizing unity, renewal, and the passing down of cultural heritage from one generation to the next. Hmong New Year is a time of joy, reflection, and connection, fostering a strong sense of community and pride in our unique traditions and history.
