Tornado Devastation on Vero Beach’s Barrier Island | EF3 Tornado | October 9, 2024

On October 9, 2024, at 4:30 PM, a massive EF3 tornado tore through the Barrier Island in Vero Beach, with wind speeds reaching up to 165 mph. The hardest-hit areas stretched from 17th Street/Causeway northward to Bethel Creek and Beach Market.

This 13-minute video captures just a fraction of the devastation from over 1.5 hours of footage we recorded. The destruction was overwhelming, but miraculously, everyone in the affected area survived.
