Positive Behaviour Support is a values-focused, evidence-based approach to addressing problem behaviour. PBS principles and strategies tailored to students with Down syndrome are shared to help educators and families promote appropriate behaviour and interactions from an early age.

Presenter – Susan Fawcett, M.Sc. RSLP, PhD Candidate: Susan has been a Speech-Language Pathologist at the Down Syndrome Resource Foundation for 15 years. She is in the final stages of her PhD program at the University of British Columbia, where she is studying Family-Centered Positive Behaviour Support under Dr. Joe Lucyshyn. Her dissertation project involves examining the impact of a parent training program on the behaviour of children with Down syndrome, as well as parent stress levels.
