Recipe is only an approximation:
5- 6 cups flour
2- 3 tsps baking powder
1 grated coconut
2 tbsps butter
2 tbsps shortening (Crisco)
1- 1 1/2 tsps salt
Sugar (optional)
2- 2 1/2 cups (approx.) water or milk for kneading
Method
In a large bowl mix flour, baking powder, salt, and or sugar, grated coconut, butter and shortening. Break into smaller pieces until butter and shortening are thoroughly mixed in flour, and mixture resembles small crumbs. While mixing lift mixture. Add water or milk gradually, and knead into a soft to medium dough. Lightly dust with extra flour if needed. Rest dough for 20 mins. After resting, knead dough once more . Roll out into shape and bake for about 25 - 30 mins at 350°F. Enjoy 😁!
