Here's how to build a french cleat first-aid cabinet for your woodworking workshop. Are you prepared for an emergency in the workshop? Injuries happen! Small cuts and splinters are common when woodworking and more serious injuries can happen, especially around the table saw. It's always good to have first aid handy just in case. This french cleat first aid kit A.K.A Boo Boo Box is an easy build and a great addition to the workshop. See below for a cut list, supplies, first-aid items, and tools used. Please let me know what I'm missing in the first-aid kit. If you're new to french cleats check out my french cleat wall video.

HOW TO BUILD THIS FRENCH CLEAT FIRST-AID BOX
For better direction visit my website post: https://brattonbuilt.com/french-cleat...

ASSEMBLING THE MAIN SECTION OF THE CABINET:
Start by making all the cuts for the entire build using cut list above.
Drill pocket holes on the edges of the identical three 3/4″ plywood pieces that will be the bottom, top, and shelf.
Next, glue, clamp, and fasten bottom plywood to side panel using 1 1/4″ pocket screws making sure joint is square.
Fasten the top to the side panels next.
Cut two 5″ scrap pieces of plywood to be used as spacers for the shelf, then clamp, glue, and fasten shelf with 1 1/4″ pocket hole screws.

MAKING THE CABINET DRAWER:
Start by drilling a hole in the drawer front for use as a finger pull.
Use a chamfer bit on your router to round out the finger pull hole.
Next, glue and clamp drawer sides together and let dry.
Finally, glue and brad nail 1/4″ plywood bottom panel. An optional step is to add a chamfered edge to the bottom of the drawer.

ATTACHING THE BOO BOO BOX CABINET DOOR:
Line up and attach hinge and magnet pieces.
Drill hole and attach cabinet knob.

ATTACH FRENCH CLEAT AND FINISH
After sanding, predrill, counter sink, and fasten french cleat.
To finish apply a few coats of lacquer after removing knob and tapping over hinge and magnet.
Add first-aid items to your french cleat first-aid cabinet!
Bam! Congratulations, your workshop is now much safer!
