The End Update is something that most players want by now, and some believe it will be released on version 1.22 or 1.23. While we don't have any confirmed proof, we have seen hints pointing towards the End Update. However, with the extreme change in pace for Minecraft updates from now on, I'm not quite sure the End will be Updated this year after all.
