I was looking for an economic solution for a large bird feeder to be placed at our land. We are relatively new land owners and recently had the land converted to an agriculture except (wildlife) status. This is an option in Texas to keep ranch land natural even if you are not raising livestock. Our exception is focused on songbird protection and promotion, and one of the requirements to qualify is to have large bird feeders throughout the property. Most manufactured options are very expensive and were a little too big for our needs. Bird feeders you buy from local stores are mostly meant for backyards and are smaller in scale. So, I decided to build one with some simple parts.
