Heli Hofmann and Sammy Theurer share a unique ski touring dream, between themselves, and with four other friends – to freeride some fairly remote mountains in the region between Racha and Svaneti, Georgia.​

Having placed their backcountry skiing dream into the adidas TERREX x EOFT United By Summits raffle, the group of friends soon found themselves as winners, with their Georgia ski touring adventure about to become possible.​

By the early spring of 2023, the history-making team were packed and fully equipped to step forth into the Georgian mountains in pursuit of backcountry skiing their way into history. Amateur athletes, Levi and Heli, wished to rediscover what defines them as individuals by exploring the idea of 'ialakha.' "It means something like: "Everything you are, everything you feel, that is you - and you are allowed to be happy about that!""​

The goal is to find a connection through the mountains between the last two inhabited villages in the Racha and Svaneti regions (Georgia). Equipped for ten days, they embark on their journey with local hero "Zura" -"man, you're crazy, that's impossible!"​

The group embarked on a backcountry skiing journey that spanned a total of six days, with a different campsite each evening, for a total of five nights. The route they chose connects the two villages of Ghebi and Ushguli in the Georgian Caucasus. The tour itself doesn't have a specific name. They designed the winter track on their own and named the project IALAKHA.​
