This video was planned with five locos in mind but unfortunately we had to settle for three. To be honest the main reason for our trip to the North West was to see Great Western Castle Class 5043 'Earl Of Mount Edgecumbe' taking on Shap. The two other locos which should of featured were 34067 'Tangmere' which was about 15 minutes behind the Castle. The shot was captured but has been omitted due to being shoved up Shap due to late running, plus the the lack of effort from the front was minimal and not worth putting in. The late running on the mainline meant we missed our chance at capturing Leander on the East Lancashire Railway and also late running on the East Lancs meant we could not wait around to see Leander as we had to get down to Cheshire to get one final shot of the Castle.

Still, three big name locos in one day is not to be sniffed at. I hope you enjoy the sight and sound of the GWR over the Northern Hills and brief glance at Sir Nigel Gresley & Britannia.
