In this video, I paddle a whitewater kayak down the Potomac River's Little Falls rapid. This is my first time running it this high, so I take conservative lines- and I'm glad I did. The waves are tall and chaotic, and swims in cold water can be punishing- as I recently discovered.
Take care when paddling this rapid above 4.5 feet. The Island is almost all the way under water, and the higher it gets, the more dangerous it is to swim, or to go ANYWHERE NEAR the Chain Bridge pylons.
Big thanks to Ryan for sharing his video of the same run, just minutes earlier!
As always, paddle safely!
