Oaks do not produce acorns every year, and even in years that they do produce acorns, the number the produce can vary widely — and the literature claims that bur oaks do not even to begin to bear acorns until they are 25 years old, but some of these trees are producing at 6 or 7 years! So-far this year, we are getting what looks like a repeat of last year and will have plenty of acorns to work with this fall! I'll do an update when they get a bit bigger, and we'll see how many trees are actually producing this year. 😊
