Today I'm sharing a fun project - how to make your own alcohol markers using Crayola's marker maker refill kit!

If you're young, it's a good idea to get an adult to help with this project as you'll need to use Isopropyl alcohol in a well-ventilated area and may also need help using the art syringe.

The kit costs about £8-12 in the UK depending on where you buy it, and comes with enough stuff to make 12 Crayola pens. £1 a pen - not bad! The alcohol isn't too expensive per bottle, and you can probably find the other materials around the house.

To make alcohol markers using the kit you will also need:

Isopropyl alcohol
Small container to mix ink in
Tweezers to help push sponge into pen barrel
Paint Brush for mixing and testing colours

To make alcohol markers using inks you will need:

Inks (I used Windsor & Newton inks with good results)
An art syringe
Water to flush syringe (basically you pump the syringe in the water until the syringe is clean)
