This cardigan sweater is for boys and girls between 3-5 years old but you can easily crochet this little cardigan, sweater, coat or jacket smaller or bigger by simply changing your hook size and making it in the exact same way as this tutorial with same stitch count and number of rows. Just remember these sizes are not exact they are based on standard sizes and since not all children are the same size. Also tension varies from person to person which can affect the final size. 0-3M use 2mm hook with #3, DK or 8ply yarn
3-6M use 2.5mm hook with #3, DK or 8ply yarn
6-9M use 3mm hook with #3, DK or 8ply yarn
9-12M use 3.5mm hook with #3, DK or 8ply yarn

1-2yrs use 4mm hook with #4, ARAN or 10ply yarn
2-3yrs use 4.5mm hook with #4, ARAN or 10ply yarn
3-5yrs use 5mm hook with #4, ARAN or 10ply yarn
5-7yrs use 5.5mm hook with #4, ARAN or 10ply yarn
8-10yrs use 6mm hook with #4, ARAN or 10ply yarn

Cardigan = 340g of Aran yarn for 3-5yr size ( I used Stylecraft Special Aran in grey (158g) and Paintbox Aran in light blue # 231 (182g) You can purchase this yarn from Lovecraft.com

You can also use any yarn with similar weight like #4, or 10ply
Five 20mm size buttons but you can also use 16mm, 17mm, 18mm or 19mm size too.
