Not sure how to use the wrist on a topspin tennis serve? Check the video above but first sign up for a free topspin CONSISTENCY course: https://www.feeltennis.net/second-ser...

Tennis players are often times confused about the role of the wrist when hitting a topspin serve.

Does the wrist snap or not? And if not, is it then completely passive and all the work is being done with the forearm?

Well, as it turns out the wrist does not snap nor it is passive.

While it doesn't move in the flexion - extension plane (which would be "snapping"), it does move from abduction to adduction.

While this sounds quite complicated it actually is not.

You'll see when you check today's video where I'll explain first in theory how the wrist works and then I'll show you also in a slow motion using a video analysis app.

By the way, for those of you looking for another app to replace the popular Coach's Eye, I recommend OnForm app for Apple users and CoachNow for Android users.

I plan to make a more detailed review of both in the future so stay tuned...
