EPISODE #55
The title is a little dramatic, but it is true... maybe I've just been spoiled with great events in the past. This is the second video from my trip over in Australia. This is the famous Around The Bay cycling event, where the classic route takes you 210km around Port Philip Bay taking in all of the surrounding areas. The event starts in Albert Park, Melbourne… a place famous for Formula 1, which is an incredible place to ride! But unfortunately the routes very quickly goes down hill after this. And when I say “down hill” I don’t mean in the good way… quite a large and disappointing chunk of this ride is on congested highways and is quite frankly dangerous! I’m not sure how there wasn’t any injuries to be honest, well I’m hoping there wasn’t.
Anyways, I came a long way to do this event… so I'm going to enjoy myself. Once we get off the highway, the route starts to improve and my spirits start to get lifted. I’m out for a long day on the bike with a good group of guys, so I make sure I enjoy it as much as I can. In all fairness it actually turns out to be a pretty great day out on the bike… check it all out in this video.
