Forests are important for the climate - that is well known. But few people know that wet bogs are even more effective climate protectors. This has to do with a mass that we know from our own garden: Peat. KLIMA° vor acht takes a closer look at these mystical wetlands and reveals why wet bogs are indispensable for the climate.

The aim of the initiative KLIMA° vor acht is to encourage TV stations to broadcast scientifically based climate reporting daily and at prime time, up-to-date and easy to understand. In this way, as many people as possible can be informed about the ongoing climate crisis and be educated about possible solutions.

To achieve this goal, we have produced six exemplary episodes ourselves with the help of donations. From now on, these will be published here every Thursday at 19:55.

As we are a volunteer project, we do not have the same possibilities as a TV station, so of course we could not actually produce daily news. Therefore, as an example, we show a season that consists of two types of shows: on the one hand, background knowledge that can certainly be pre-produced and, on the other hand, reporting that puts current events into context. To illustrate this, we have fictitiously backdated this broadcast and show what the corresponding report could have looked like.
