Monday 8 October 2018 – The principals of the 10 major projects that will change Brisbane addressed the Queensland Media Club (QMC) about their projects and how they will benefit the Queensland capital. Speaking all together for the first time on a stage, the panel included Graeme Newton, CEO, ‪@CrossRiverRailQLD‬ ($5.4 bil); Geoff Hogg, Queensland Managing Director, ‪@QueensWharfBrisbane‬ ($3.6 bil); Harvey Lister, Chairman and CEO, Brisbane Live ($2 bil); Matthew Beasley, Office Development Queensland, Waterfront Precinct ($1.4 billion); Gert-Jan de Graaff, CEO, ‪@brisbaneairport‬ ($1.3 bil); Richard McLachlan, Development Director, Herston Quarter ($1.1 bil); Andrew Thompson, Project Director, West Village ($1 bil); Cr Adrian Schrinner, Deputy Mayor and Chairman, Brisbane Metro ($944 mil); Luke Fraser, CEO, Howard Smith Wharves ($200 mil); and Roy Cummins, CEO, Brisbane International Cruise Terminal ($158 mil).

This QMC event explored the links between the projects and asked how they might benefit Brisbane’s economy, particularly the tourism economy by supporting Brisbane as a destination and not just a gateway to other places. The panel discussion was followed by a live media conference with members of the Queensland Parliament Media Gallery.

The QMC is the official political, business and media forum of the Queensland Parliament Media Gallery and the Media Entertainment and Arts Alliance. The QMC hosts a series of events each year providing a forum for key business leaders and decision makers, political representatives and media.
