Igor Levit performs the first movement from Ludwig van Beethoven's Moonlight Piano Sonata No. 14, Op. 27 No. 2. This live performance was part of the Opus Klassik 2019, Germany's most important award ceremony for Classical music. The pianist received the award 'Instrumentalist of the Year' for his album "Life." The Moonlight sonata is included in his latest recording of Beethoven's Complete Piano Sonatas.
