The small plane dips lower, and I can feel my heart rate pick up. I peer out the window, and the vast ocean suddenly gives way to a narrow strip of sand, which looks impossibly small for the plane to land on. The sound of the wind rushing past the windows mixes with the engine’s hum, creating an almost surreal soundtrack to the descent. @airfraserisland
