In The Early Hours Of July 19th 2024 a freak tech issue occurred globally when a massive IT outage caused by issues with CrowdStrike software caused havoc with computer systems around the world.

Airport check-in systems across the globe have been disrupted, while banks, supermarkets and media companies are among the other businesses reporting network outages.

despite this, knock airport wasn't hugely affected, just some delays to services whereas at other Irish and UK airports flights were cancelled
