A live synthesizer and guitar jam performed on hardware (with some backing vocals and extra drums/guitars added afterwards).

This track started from my explorations with the Walrus Sloër; in fact, you can hear the opening sounds that I made with the Sloër and the 303 here:    • Exploring the Walrus Slöer reverb wit...

I took these 303/Sloër sounds, cut them and synchronized them, and threw them into the Octatrack. Once there, I had the beginnings of a song. For bass, I added my trusty Minitaur, and for pads, the Nymphes, both running into the Octatrack (wish I hadn't done that, as I rushed to record and it was hard to master the track!). I could also hear some guitar, and since the song was in B, it made most sense to use my baritone.

I also heard vocals in my head, which I decided to perform live with the synths and guitar. I've decided that three musical parts (vox, guitar, synths) is too many to monitor all at once, and that's what led to not paying enough attention to the Octatrack mix.

In any case, once I got everything mixed, and added some vocal harmonies and acoustic drums, I think it really came together. I'm always mixed about sharing my songs with vocals, but I like how this one turned out, especially the extended guitar outro.

Elektron Octatrack - so many samples (especially from the BassBot 303 and Walrus Sloër)
Moog Minitaur - bass synth
Dreadbox Nymphes - pad synth
Fender Jaguar Baritone through Elektron Analog Drive and Strymon Iridium - guitar
Various sweeteners in the box (e.g. XLN Addictive Drums 2)

Vocals, synths, and guitar performed and recorded live, with some overdubs to finish off the mix.

Thanks for listening.
